1. Introduction
LESRA Future Apps (“we”, “us”, “our”) develops and operates Abakada – Filipino Literacy for Kids (the “App”). This Privacy Policy describes our data practices — specifically, that we do not collect, store, or process any personal data from users of this App on our own servers or systems.
This Privacy Policy also serves as our Data Policy and Data Safety Summary for app-store compliance purposes (see Section 10).
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge and agree to this Privacy Policy. If you are a parent or guardian allowing a child to use the App, you accept this policy on the child’s behalf.

3. Information We Collect
3.1 Local Device Storage Only
The App stores the following data locally on your device only, using Android’s SharedPreferences mechanism. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party through our systems:
- App settings and preferences (e.g., audio on/off, TTS voice selection, music and sound effects toggles)
- Lesson progress and completion status
- Daily learning streak count and best streak record
- Stars earned and unlocked/equipped rewards (backgrounds and stickers)
- Optional child display name or profile label, if entered by the parent or user — stored on-device only, never transmitted
- Whether the first-launch onboarding tutorial has been completed
3.2 What We Do NOT Collect
- No names, email addresses, or contact information
- No location or GPS data
- No device identifiers (collected by us)
- No camera or microphone recordings
- No behavioral profiles or user-tracking data built by us
- No biometric data of any kind
4. Text-to-Speech (TTS)
The App uses your device’s built-in Text-to-Speech (TTS) engine (provided natively by the Android operating system or installed TTS engines such as Google Text-to-Speech) to pronounce Filipino letters, syllables, words, greetings, and animal sounds. All TTS processing occurs entirely on your device.
5. Device Permissions
The App may request the following Android permission:
- Internet access — required solely to allow Google AdMob to serve advertisements and for Firebase services (Crashlytics, Analytics, Remote Config) to function. This permission is not used by us to transmit any personal user data.
The App does NOT request or use the following permissions:
- Camera or microphone access
- Location (GPS or network-based)
- Access to Contacts, Call Logs, or Messages
- Access to Files, Photos, or External Storage
- Usage Access or Device Administrator privileges
6. Advertising — Google AdMob
The App may display advertisements served by Google AdMob (a Google LLC service). Advertisements appear only as a global banner at the bottom of the screen and as interstitial ads shown no more than once every five minutes. No native ads are displayed inside game or lesson screens.
Interstitial ads are closeable within 5 seconds and are never shown immediately upon app launch, in compliance with Google Play Families Policy requirements.

Parents and guardians may opt out of ad personalization at any time through Google Settings → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization on the device, or by resetting the device’s advertising identifier.
7. Firebase Services
The App integrates the following Google Firebase services, which may collect limited anonymous technical data:
7.1 Firebase Crashlytics
Crashlytics automatically collects anonymous crash reports and error logs when the App experiences a technical failure. This data includes stack traces, device model, OS version, and app version — but no personally identifiable information. This data is used solely to identify and fix bugs to improve App stability.
7.2 Firebase Analytics
Firebase Analytics collects anonymous usage events such as which lessons are started or completed, which mini-games are played, and streak milestone achievements. This data is aggregated and anonymous — it does not identify individual users. It is used solely to understand how children engage with the App so we can improve the learning experience.
7.3 Firebase Remote Config
Remote Config allows us to update certain App settings remotely (such as ad frequency and app version information) without requiring a full app update. No personal data is collected through Remote Config.
8. Optional In-App Subscriptions
The App may offer an optional subscription plan (via Google Play Billing) to remove advertisements. Subscribing is entirely voluntary. If you choose to subscribe:
- All payment processing is handled entirely by Google Play — we are not involved in the payment transaction
- We do NOT receive, store, or process any payment card information, billing address, or personal financial data
- We do NOT collect any additional personal information as part of the subscription process
- Google Play provides us only with an anonymized subscription status token sufficient to unlock the ad-free experience within the App
- Subscription management (renewal, cancellation, refunds) is handled through the Google Play Store
Google Play’s Terms of Service govern all subscription transactions: https://play.google.com/about/play-terms/
9. No Cloud Backend
The App functions as a standalone local application. All learning progress, streak data, star counts, unlocked rewards, and user preferences are stored exclusively on the device via Android SharedPreferences. Internet access is used only by third-party SDKs (AdMob, Firebase) as described in this policy.
10. Data Policy / Data Safety Summary (Google Play)
This section summarizes data handling practices for alignment with Google Play’s Data Safety section disclosure requirements.
Data Collected by LESRA Future Apps
Data Shared by LESRA Future Apps
Data Collected by Integrated Third-Party SDKs
- Google AdMob SDK — may collect advertising identifiers and device signals for the purpose of serving non-personalized, child-directed, G-rated advertisements. Governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. Child-directed settings are applied. No mediation networks (e.g., IronSource, Liftoff/Vungle) are used — ads are served exclusively by Google AdMob.
- Firebase Crashlytics — collects anonymous crash reports (device model, OS version, app version, stack traces). No personal data. Used for bug fixing only.
- Firebase Analytics — collects anonymous usage events (lesson completions, game plays, streak milestones). No personal data. Used for app improvement only.
- Firebase Remote Config — no personal data collected.
- Google Play Billing Library (if subscription is purchased) — payment and billing data is handled by Google. We receive only a subscription status token from Google Play.
Local Storage (On-Device Only)
- App preferences and settings — stored on-device only via SharedPreferences; never transmitted
- Lesson progress and completion records — stored on-device only; never transmitted
- Daily streak count, best streak, and practice session count — stored on-device only; never transmitted
- Stars earned, unlocked rewards, and equipped backgrounds/stickers — stored on-device only; never transmitted
- Optional child display name — stored on-device only; never transmitted
Data Security
Since we collect no personal user data, no personal data is at risk in our systems. Local on-device data is protected by Android’s application sandbox and the device’s own security model (screen lock, encryption if enabled by the user).
11. Children’s Privacy (COPPA and Applicable Law)
Abakada – Filipino Literacy for Kids is explicitly designed for use by young children ages 6–12 as an educational tool. We take children’s privacy with the utmost seriousness and have built the App with privacy-by-design principles to ensure no personal information about children is collected.
- We collect no personal information from children or from parents on behalf of children
- No registration, account creation, or login of any kind is required or available
- Advertising is configured with mandatory child-directed settings and G-rated content only (COPPA-compliant non-personalized ads); no mediation networks are used — ads are served exclusively by Google AdMob
- No native ads are placed inside game screens or lesson screens
- Interstitial ads are always closeable and never shown on app launch
- No behavioral data, usage analytics tied to individuals, or any identifiable information is transmitted from the device by us
- The App is designed to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Philippine Data Privacy Act (Republic Act No. 10173), and all applicable children’s privacy regulations
Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise and participate in their child’s use of the App. If you believe your child’s privacy or personal information has been affected in any way, please contact us immediately: jdronquillo46@gmail.com
12. Data Retention
We retain no personal user data on our systems, as we collect none. Data stored locally on the device persists until the user uninstalls the App or manually clears the App’s storage through Android Settings → Apps → Abakada → Storage → Clear Data.
Anonymous crash and analytics data collected by Firebase is retained in accordance with Google’s data retention policies.
13. Your Rights and Choices
Because we collect no personal data, data subject rights such as access, correction, deletion, and portability are exercisable directly by the user on the device:
- Clear all local data: Android Settings → Apps → Abakada → Storage → Clear Data
- Uninstall the App: Removes all locally stored App data permanently
- Manage ad preferences: Through Google Settings → Ads on your device
- Reset advertising identifier: Through Android Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID
- Manage subscription: Through Google Play Store → Subscriptions
- Opt out of Firebase Analytics: Contact us and we will provide guidance on disabling analytics data collection
For any privacy-related inquiries, concerns, or requests, you may also contact us at: jdronquillo46@gmail.com
14. International Users
The App is available globally through the Google Play Store. As we collect no personal data, cross-border data transfer restrictions (such as GDPR Chapter V or equivalent) do not apply to us directly. Third-party services integrated into the App (Google AdMob, Firebase, Google Play Billing) operate under their own globally applicable data handling frameworks and privacy policies.
