📋 Quick Summary

1. Introduction

LESRA Future Apps (“we”, “us”, “our”) develops and operates Abakada – Filipino Literacy for Kids (the “App”). This Privacy Policy describes our data practices — specifically, that we do not collect, store, or process any personal data from users of this App on our own servers or systems.

This Privacy Policy also serves as our Data Policy and Data Safety Summary for app-store compliance purposes (see Section 10).

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge and agree to this Privacy Policy. If you are a parent or guardian allowing a child to use the App, you accept this policy on the child’s behalf.

3. Information We Collect

We collect NO personal information whatsoever. No name, email address, phone number, location data, device identifier, or any other personally identifiable information is collected, stored, or transmitted to our systems by this App.

3.1 Local Device Storage Only

The App stores the following data locally on your device only, using Android’s SharedPreferences mechanism. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party through our systems:

3.2 What We Do NOT Collect

4. Text-to-Speech (TTS)

The App uses your device’s built-in Text-to-Speech (TTS) engine (provided natively by the Android operating system or installed TTS engines such as Google Text-to-Speech) to pronounce Filipino letters, syllables, words, greetings, and animal sounds. All TTS processing occurs entirely on your device.

We do not make audio recordings, transmit speech data, or receive any output from the device’s TTS engine. The TTS engine is part of the Android platform and is governed by the terms of whoever provided the TTS engine (e.g., Google Text-to-Speech is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy).

5. Device Permissions

The App may request the following Android permission:

The App does NOT request or use the following permissions:

6. Advertising — Google AdMob

The App may display advertisements served by Google AdMob (a Google LLC service). Advertisements appear only as a global banner at the bottom of the screen and as interstitial ads shown no more than once every five minutes. No native ads are displayed inside game or lesson screens.

Child-Directed Advertising: Because this App is specifically designed for children, we configure AdMob with child-directed treatment (TAG_FOR_CHILD_DIRECTED_TREATMENT = yes), under-age-of-consent treatment (TAG_FOR_UNDER_AGE_OF_CONSENT = yes), and maximum ad content rating G. This means AdMob will not use behavioral tracking or interest-based advertising profiles when serving ads in this App. All ads are non-personalized and G-rated only, in full compliance with Google’s Families Policy and COPPA. No mediation networks (e.g., IronSource, Liftoff/Vungle) are used — ads are served exclusively by Google AdMob.

Interstitial ads are closeable within 5 seconds and are never shown immediately upon app launch, in compliance with Google Play Families Policy requirements.

Relevant Google policies and resources:

Parents and guardians may opt out of ad personalization at any time through Google Settings → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization on the device, or by resetting the device’s advertising identifier.

7. Firebase Services

The App integrates the following Google Firebase services, which may collect limited anonymous technical data:

7.1 Firebase Crashlytics

Crashlytics automatically collects anonymous crash reports and error logs when the App experiences a technical failure. This data includes stack traces, device model, OS version, and app version — but no personally identifiable information. This data is used solely to identify and fix bugs to improve App stability.

7.2 Firebase Analytics

Firebase Analytics collects anonymous usage events such as which lessons are started or completed, which mini-games are played, and streak milestone achievements. This data is aggregated and anonymous — it does not identify individual users. It is used solely to understand how children engage with the App so we can improve the learning experience.

7.3 Firebase Remote Config

Remote Config allows us to update certain App settings remotely (such as ad frequency and app version information) without requiring a full app update. No personal data is collected through Remote Config.

All Firebase services are configured in compliance with Google’s data processing terms. Firebase data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

8. Optional In-App Subscriptions

The App may offer an optional subscription plan (via Google Play Billing) to remove advertisements. Subscribing is entirely voluntary. If you choose to subscribe:

Google Play’s Terms of Service govern all subscription transactions: https://play.google.com/about/play-terms/

9. No Cloud Backend

LESRA Future Apps does not operate any proprietary server, cloud database, or backend infrastructure for the Abakada App. There is no transmission of personal user data between the App and our systems at any time.

The App functions as a standalone local application. All learning progress, streak data, star counts, unlocked rewards, and user preferences are stored exclusively on the device via Android SharedPreferences. Internet access is used only by third-party SDKs (AdMob, Firebase) as described in this policy.

10. Data Policy / Data Safety Summary (Google Play)

This section summarizes data handling practices for alignment with Google Play’s Data Safety section disclosure requirements.

Data Collected by LESRA Future Apps

None. We collect no personal data from users of this App.

Data Shared by LESRA Future Apps

None. We do not share any user data with any party (we have no personal user data to share).

Data Collected by Integrated Third-Party SDKs

Local Storage (On-Device Only)

Data Security

Since we collect no personal user data, no personal data is at risk in our systems. Local on-device data is protected by Android’s application sandbox and the device’s own security model (screen lock, encryption if enabled by the user).

11. Children’s Privacy (COPPA and Applicable Law)

Abakada – Filipino Literacy for Kids is explicitly designed for use by young children ages 6–12 as an educational tool. We take children’s privacy with the utmost seriousness and have built the App with privacy-by-design principles to ensure no personal information about children is collected.

Parental Confirmation: On first launch, the App displays a one-tap parental confirmation screen stating that the App is for children ages 6–12 and linking to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. A parent or guardian must tap “I Agree” before the child proceeds to onboarding. This confirmation is shown once and stored locally on the device.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise and participate in their child’s use of the App. If you believe your child’s privacy or personal information has been affected in any way, please contact us immediately: jdronquillo46@gmail.com

12. Data Retention

We retain no personal user data on our systems, as we collect none. Data stored locally on the device persists until the user uninstalls the App or manually clears the App’s storage through Android Settings → Apps → Abakada → Storage → Clear Data.

Anonymous crash and analytics data collected by Firebase is retained in accordance with Google’s data retention policies.

13. Your Rights and Choices

Because we collect no personal data, data subject rights such as access, correction, deletion, and portability are exercisable directly by the user on the device:

For any privacy-related inquiries, concerns, or requests, you may also contact us at: jdronquillo46@gmail.com

14. International Users

The App is available globally through the Google Play Store. As we collect no personal data, cross-border data transfer restrictions (such as GDPR Chapter V or equivalent) do not apply to us directly. Third-party services integrated into the App (Google AdMob, Firebase, Google Play Billing) operate under their own globally applicable data handling frameworks and privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, applicable law, or third-party service terms. Material changes will be reflected with an updated “Last Updated” date at the top of this document. We encourage parents and guardians to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of the App after any changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
