3. Information We Collect

The App is designed on data minimization principles. We do not gather personal profiles or tracking identifiers from children.

3.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All educational achievements, progress scores, and customization details are stored securely on your local device. This data is kept strictly inside the App's sandbox space (packaged using an offline Room Database) and is never transmitted to us or third-party servers:

• Earned Game Points (stars, score counts) used to unlock chests
• Daily Streaks (log counts to foster consistency)
• Unlocked Sticker Collections & Milestones
• Completed Tracing exercises and badges
• App configuration settings (sound preferences, levels)

3.2 Parent-Facing Features & Verification Data

We implement a strict Parental Gate (requiring solving arithmetic challenges) before parents can access standard external features:

• Google Sign-In: If a parent/guardian chooses to link an account for premium subscription preservation, Google provides an email address, user display name, and standard authentication token. This data is strictly used to authenticate the adult subscriber. It is never used to profile or track the child.
• Google Play Billing: Premium upgrades are processed safely through Google Play's native billing system. We do not collect or store your billing credentials, credit card numbers, or transaction metadata. All financial details are processed strictly by Google.

3.3 Safe AI & Speech Processing

• Gemini API Usage: The App uses the Gemini API via a secure backend structure to generate rich, kid-friendly spelling keywords and reading cues. We do not transmit any child's user-specific identifiers, locations, or files to the Gemini server.
• Voice Synthesis and speech checking: To encourage phonics mastery, the App utilizes Android's built-in Text-To-Speech (TTS) and voice recognition. If microphone inputs are verified for word matching, the audio is processed completely locally or transiently and is never captured, recorded, saved, or uploaded to any server.

3.4 Data We Do NOT Collect

We strictly enforce that:

• We do NOT track geographic location (GPS or network coordinates).
• We do NOT access the device contact list, photo gallery, or device files.
• We do NOT use advertising identifiers, behavior trackers, or analytical profiling.

4. Mixed Audience & Advertising

Little Lingo is a general-audience educational application that appeals to both children (5 & under, 6-8, 9-12) and adults. To ensure a safe experience for all users while maintaining the App's availability, we implement the following advertising and safety measures:

• To track milestones and streaks to motivate the child.

• To deliver dynamic, children-approved answers safely using generative educational AI frameworks.
• To serve advertisements in compliance with age-based safety requirements.

We rely only on standard, secure third-party modules that meet rigorous Children & Families guidelines:

• Google AdMob: Serves advertisements. For child users, ads are served in a non-personalized, COPPA-compliant manner.
• Google Play Services: Powers essential app stability, crash logs, and localized features.
• Google Play Billing & Google Sign-In: Handles premium checkouts and identity verification strictly accessed inside the Parental Gate for adults.
• Google Gemini API: Generates creative adaptive phonics prompts.

7. Device Permissions

The App requests specific permission scopes strictly when necessary to enable key educational games:

• INTERNET: Required to query secure educational APIs (Gemini), Google Billing subscription verification, and to serve advertisements via Google AdMob.
• AD_ID: Used by the Google AdMob SDK for adult users to provide relevant advertising experiences. This is disabled for users identified as children via the Age Gate.
• RECORD_AUDIO: Optional permission utilized solely for real-time educational speech validation. Audio input is analyzed locally, translated transiently, and instantly dismissed. No audio files are stored or transmitted.

7. Children's Privacy Compliance (COPPA & Families Policy)

The App is designed to offer a fully protective space for kids and is constructed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Google Play Families Policy:

• We never intentionally gather, store, or sell any personal indicators from children under the age of 13.
• All secondary or billing actions are blocked by an adult-only Parental Gate.
• If a parent believes a child has inadvertently created an account or shared data with us, please correspond with us immediately via jdronquillo46@gmail.com. We will wipe any such records cleanly in under 24 hours.

8. GDPR Compliance (EU/UK Users)

For families residing in the EU or UK, you are granted the following data privacy rights:

• The right to examine, export, correct, or scrub any local parameters. (Since progress rests entirely on your local device, you can scrub all learning histories at once by clearing the App's files from your Android Settings).

9. Data Security & Retention

Since all standard user gameplay data is contained completely inside the device's storage vault, safety is governed directly by your physical phone's built-in sandbox barriers.

For premium accounts linked to Google, your credentials reside safely on Google’s secure systems. Inactive or transient API interaction packets are instantly deleted on transaction completions or session timeouts.
